Molluscum and Children Under 2 Years Old
Mollenol Patches can be used on young children and babies less than 2 years old but they should not use Mollenol lotion.
Combining Mollenol Patches with an apple cider vinegar wash-over can limit the spread of molluscum and help resolve infections.
The Routine: Bath child as described below and 15 minutes after the bath apply Mollenol Patches to most if not all large pus filled bumps. Small molluscum bumps which have limited pus should be covered with clothing if possible.
Apple Cider Vinegar Wash-Over:
What you need:
1. Standard supermarket grade apple cider vinegar is all you need ($5 for 2 litres). You only need to dilute with water if it is too strong (stings too much).
What to do:
This is the easiest way to use apple cider vinegar for molluscum.
Prior to bathing/showering remove Mollenol Patches and use a disposable cloth or make up pad to apply apple cider vinegar to the molluscum and surrounding skin. Leave it on for a few minutes and then wash off.
After the use of apple cider vinegar inspect the body and look for a red rash appearing. Take note of where these rashes are on the body. You may even notice very small beginning stage molluscum bumps which you had not seen before. Any redness and rash will fade in a few hours.
When bathing in a bath pour 2-3 cups of apple cider vinegar into the bath water. Don’t use soap bars or face washers (flannels) to wash. Use liquid soap.
Apple cider vinegar is a gentle exfoliant and cleaner and will help minimise the spread of molluscum. This can dry out small bumps and help Mollenol Patches draw out the pus from the larger bumps.
If you are still using a bath, rinse out the bath with undiluted apple cider vinegar before and after bathing. This will help stop the spread of molluscum.
After bathing/showering towel dry the infected areas with a different towel (use it only once and wash).
If you wish use a hair dryer to dry the infected areas.
Repeat the use of apple cider vinegar for 3 days in a row in the first week and then 1-2 days per week thereafter.
